Most Haunted presenter Yvette Fielding has revealed her ten most spine-chilling moments in the long-running ghost hunting show's 15 year history.

Yvette's top moments include an impressive EVP recording, moving furniture, crew being taken ill, and a creepy encounter at the UK's most haunted house.

Yvette took her team to the home of the Pendle Witches in East Lancashire for a live show which was broadcast over halloween 2004. During the broadcast, which was spread over three nights, the team held vigils at Clitheroe Castle, Church Brow, Trinity Youth Centre, Lower Well Head Farm, Bull Hole Farm, and Waddow Hall but it was the derelict Tynedale Farm house where things got really terrifying.

During the live investigation of the house, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of the witches of Pendle Hill, several team members said they felt like they were being chocked and one-by-one left the location. Team member, Stuart Torevell was the first to experience difficulties breathing and left the house, he was followed by a further three crew members who also reported the feeling of being suffocated.

In 2015, Yvette her husband Karl Beattie were given the fright of their lives when they carried out a vigil in pitch black classroom in the old school building at the Black Country Living Museum. The pair experienced furniture moving in front of their eyes and even the bench they were sat on moved beneath them.

Yvette spoke about her experience after shooting the episode, "it was extraordinary. I was scared but at the same time mesmerised. That is a very active place that is haunted. However, it was not negative. It's my belief they're children who simply want to play."

In 2014 long time team member Chris Burton dramatically left the show during the recording of an investigation at the National Emergency Services Museum. After hearing footsteps and a crash the camera went dead. Yvette explained that the camera lost its power but it was all too much for Chris. After seven years on the show, he packed up his kit and walked out of the shoot, never to return to the show.

7. Fort Paull - Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire

It's not uncommon to hear Yvette scream during an investigation, but when the Most Haunted crew visited Fort Paull, Yorkshire's only remaining Napoleonic fortress, she gave her loudest scream ever. In the terrifying two-part episode, which aired in 2015, Yvette got the fright of her life a the Fort, which is now a tourist attraction when she heard something growl in her right ear.

Yvette says they voice was "so clear to me, so aggressive that I just screamed."

6. Capesthorne Hall - Siddington, Cheshire

It was Karl who got a fright at Capesthorne Hall, an 18th century country house with a labyrinth of rooms and corridors to explore. Karl had been alone in the a room in the house's attic where a piano stood against the wall.

Karl was a couple of meters away from the piano with his back to it, yet the piano played a note as if someone or something had pressed a key. Karl jumped out of his skin, clearly frightened by the unexpected tinkle.

Formerly the Galleries of Justice Museum, housed in what was once a Victorian courtroom, gaol and police station. Yvette is a bit of a regular investigating this particular haunted location but when she took her team back to the museum in 2014, she got more than she bargained for.

While in the old court room, Yvette called out to the spirits, encouraging them to communicating by knocking or banging. Suddenly the old judge's chair that she was stood next to let out a huge bang causing the host to jump, swear and run away.

4. Tatton Old Hall - Knutsford, Cheshire

Yvette's no stranger to this grade II listed building, built as a manor house around the start of the 15th century. In fact she first visited the location in the 2007 series of Most Haunted accompanied by Carol Thatcher.

However, on her return to Tatton Old Hall in 2015 Yvette didn't even make it through the front door. In the episode, Yvette opened the house's front door and called out, "hello" at which point one of her ghost hunting devices suddenly stopped, it was too much for Yvette and fellow crew member, Leah Walton who both dashed from the open door.
"Tatton Old Hall is up there in my opinion with some of the greatest, most haunted places ever in the world. There's some violent in there that just wants you out."

3. Annison Funeral Parlour - Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire

It was the show's resident demonologist Fred Batt who stirred up trouble at a former funeral parlour in Hull. Fred was doing what he does best, calling out to negative energies and evil spirits. What Fred wasn't aware of was that the voice of a spirit was caught on tape answering his questions.

When the recording was reviewed later, the team found they had captured an EVP. Fred had said "doing something to prove that you are here" and a ghostly voice on the tape answered with the response "say what you want to me."

2. Newton House - Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire

Most Haunted first visited Newton House, a grade II listed country house in Wales in 2009. The team returned five years later joined by Welsh heavy metal band, Bullet For My Valentine.

Yvette describes the house as a must-visit for any paranormal enthusiast, it boasts reports of poltergeist activity and sightings of full apparitions but on the night of the investigation, it was scratches on Karl's body which really got the team and their guests scared.

The crew also managed to capture a creepy Victorian wheelchair move of it's own accord in an empty room, making Newton House one of the scariest locations the team have visited.

The team experienced a whole host of paranormal activities including knives being thrown and burns occurring on the skin of crew members. Karl described the occurrences as "the most violent poltergeist activity in the world."

The house is one of the most infamous haunted houses in the country, many believe that the poltergeist which haunts the house is the spirit of a local monk who was executed at near by gallows. The house's most famous former residents were the Pritchards, Jean and Joe and their two children Philip and Diane. Almost immediately after moving in to the house, the Philip and his grandmother witnessed the first creepy occurrence which led to one of the UK's most famous ghost stories.
