In the 1840s local newspapers in Bristol reported the story of a haunting at a house adjoining All Saints Church in Clifton.
The ghost was said to be that of a an old man, the Jones were terrified by his presence in the house, so much so that Mrs. Jones felt the urge to jump out of a window.
On one occasion the couple reported seeing a light flickering on one of the walls in the house, Mr. Jones was so scared that he was reduced to a trembling ball on the floor, his body doubled over.
The church and grounds is also believed to be haunted by a monk in black who is said to have returned to watch over the treasure which he had hidden in the grounds.
