Alton Towers, the popular UK theme park, is set to unveil its latest spine-tingling attraction, The Curse at Alton Manor. This haunting and immersive dark ride will appear to vanish in front of their own eyes, the theme park promises.
The park has promised that visitors to The Curse at Alton Manor will witness spine-tingling illusions, cutting-edge audio technology and advanced 3D projection-mapping create a fully immersive experience that blurs the line between reality and Emily's demonic world.
The ride charts the terrifying story of Emily Alton, the troubled daughter of a pair of Victorian high society figures who neglected her in favour of partying. According to legend, Emily's parents disappeared into thin air, leaving her alone in Alton Manor, where some say she still haunts to this day. The Curse at Alton Manor takes visitors on a journey through a dozen extraordinary scenes as Emily wreaks her awful revenge.
The ride's spooky scenes include The Grand Hall, where an opulent party becomes a scene of death with skeletal bodies lying slumped at tables. The Demon Doll Workshop gives visitors a chilling insight into the mind of Emily, with an operating table at its centre and human-sized dolls lining the walls. The Attic is where the lonely and forgotten child languished with just a doll's house to entertain her.
Alton Towers has hidden fairy-tale easter eggs in each of the rooms, which visitors are encouraged to discover.
The Curse at Alton Manor is the first major ride to be unveiled at Alton Towers since 2018. The new attraction will replace Duel, which was repossessed under mysterious circumstances and the manor was boarded up as work started on this new, more sinister iteration.. Signs appeared telling park-goers "Property repossessed. Strictly no unwanted visitors. Due to unnatural displays in the area."
Bianca Sammut, Divisional Director at Alton Towers Resort, said: "We’ve harnessed the power of cutting edge technology to provide a fully immersive experience that blurs the line between reality and Emily’s demonic world. Visitors will even seem to disappear in front of their very eyes as a result of a spine-chilling array of special effects and visuals that have never been seen before from a UK theme park."
The Curse at Alton Manor opens to the public on 18th March 2023. Dare to experience what Emily has in store? Book your visit now on the Alton Towers website.
