CCTV footage has recently emerged of a woman being thrown off of a chair in a haunted hotel.
Footage from a hotel security camera has gone viral after it appears to have captured the moment a poltergeist pushes a woman off of her chair before throwing a table across the room.
The creepy video is believed to have been shot at a haunted hotel in Malaysia, in what appears to be a canteen or restaurant.
In her panic the woman runs to the corner of the room for safety, but when she tries to run from the room, a table flies into her path and blocks her exit.
The woman then seems to pass out from terror as more chairs fly past the camera.
The video is a recording from a CCTV screen using a mobile phone hence the shaky footage and was uploaded with the title, 'Scary Ghost Attacks And Kills A Woman.'
Scary Ghost Attacks And Kills A Woman: CCTV Footage
Since this video went viral at the end of 2016, world press has picked up on the wobbly, grainy security footage. Several British newspapers picked up on the story including the Daily Mail who reported on the story with the headline, "'Poltergeist' Throws Chairs And Tables To Trap Woman In A Hotel Restaurant Before Attacking Her."
Like a lot of these videos, there's no source for the footage. No one knows who the woman is, when it supposedly happened, where this hotel was or who leaked the footage. The classic signs of a hoax.
However, this video isn't a hoax. It's just been taken out of context and the stories are poorly researched. The video is actually taken from a 2015 Malaysian documentary called 'Bangunan,' you can see the clip in the documentary's official trailer below...
Khir Rahman, Sein Qudsi and Aqasha, the makers of the documentary claims that there were no special effects used in the film which was shot at what they claim was a genuine haunted building.
Sein says, "we have to sign a non-disclosure agreement with the owner and promise not to reveal the location of the building as well as any images of companies operating there."
So, although the origins of this footage have been grossly misquoted by the mainstream media, it seems that this could still be a real example of paranormal activity, although as it was made by a professional production team, it seems unlikely.
