In the third episode of the latest series of 'Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted', tech expert Barri Ghai, historian Jayne Harris, and psychic medium Ian Lawman are called to the mansion-style house of reality television star Marnie Simpson in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.

Marnie has previously appeared on shows such as 'Geordie Shore', 'Celebrity Big Brother' and 'Ex On The Beach', and has even investigated the disused Kelvedon Hatch nuclear bunker near Brentwood in the series 'Celebrity Ghost Hunt'.

Marnie had become convinced that her old house was haunted after something followed her home from a Halloween photoshoot at a nearby graveyard. She had previously lived opposite the graveyard and felt that the shoot had unsettled something in the area. Marnie said, "it was actually really spooky. Ever since that, things just took a turn for the worst." She moved from the house in an attempt to escape the negative presence, but feels it has followed her leaving her feeling trapped in her own home.

While Barri went to meet Marnie's agent to learn about his experiences, Jayne went to the graveyard which Marnie claims was the catalyst for this haunting, where she learns that Marnie could have an attachment in the form of an elemental, a type of spiritual being that are typically associated with nature. In some belief systems, they are seen as benign and helpful, while in others they are viewed as mischievous or even malevolent.

Meanwhile, Ian was at the house conducting a solo psychic sweep alone having been told nothing about the property or its owner in advance. He soon sensed a dark presence and felt that he was dealing with a spirit that had attached itself to the homeowner, who is of course Marnie, although Ian doesn't know this yet.

After conducting their own research and gathering information about the history of Marnie's house and the haunting, the team to invite her to take part in their first vigil. They hoped that Marnie's presence would trigger the spirits to interact with them.

The team began their investigation with Marnie upstairs and almost immediately heard a loud knocking sound. They tried to capture electronic voice phenomena (EVPs) using Barri's audio recorder. When they played back the recording, they heard a voice that seemed to be saying "I am here." An astonished Jayne thought that the voice may have come from Marnie without her realising it. Jayne said, "I have never heard something come from a person."

In an attempt to gain a better understanding of the attached spirit and its intentions, the team decided to try a scrying experiment in the lounge with Marnie's partner, Casey. Scrying is a technique that involves using a reflective surface, such as a mirror or crystal ball, to see visions or gain insights into the spiritual realm.

During the experiment, Casey said that he saw Marnie's face go dark, and she appeared to be wearing glasses even though she wasn't. Marnie then reacted when Ian held a crucifix behind her back without her knowing. The team felt that this temporary disruption forced the attachment out of Marnie. This was seemingly confirmed when Barri said that he heard banging coming from upstairs.

The team believed that the entity was now free to roam the house. Jayne said, "I think what this leaves us with is potentially something that's free in the house." Although this might sound concerning, she was optimistic that the team could continue to investigate and hunt down the entity to identify it and determine the best course of action to rid the house of its presence.

After Marnie and Casey left for the night, the team was left alone in the house to conduct their night-long investigation. Using a ghost hunting app called EchoVox, the team determined that there were four spirits in the house. The team felt these human spirits were in the house to assist them with their investigation. It could be that they needed help as the app next seemed to suggest that there were 10 imps in the house.

Imps are supernatural beings that are often associated with mischief and trickery, and they are similar to elementals. The team considered that they might be dealing with an imp infestation in the house. While investigating upstairs, the team heard several unexplained sounds in the form of knocks, a strange breathy sigh that they heard multiple times, and what Jayne described as an "inhuman screech."

As the investigation continued, Ian felt that the entity they were dealing with had moved outside, so Barri was sent to follow it. In the garden, Barri once again heard a screeching sound, which seemed to indicate that at least one of the entities had retreated to the outdoor area. As Barri explored the garden, he heard another strange sigh close to him, which prompted him and his cameraman to quickly run back to the house for safety.

After their intense investigation, the team called Marnie and Casey back into the house to help put an end to the haunting once and for all. Ian, who is an ordained exorcist, performed a form of exorcism on Marnie, which Ian hoped would expel the dark entity that had been plaguing her.

After the exorcism, Marnie expressed her relief and gratitude. She summed up by saying, "when I was going to bed something just felt different, there was just a different air around us." She added, "I didn't feel scared anymore."

Barri concluded by saying, "in terms of paranormal investigation, this has been some of the most compelling evidence we have ever gathered on any case."

The investigation of Marnie's house is available to watch on demand on Discovery+ now, with the next episode of 'Celebrity Help! My House Is Haunted' dropping next Friday. Still to come in the series, the team investigate the homes of Simon Gregson, Jake Quickenden and Lady Colin Campbell.
