Daisy May Cooper appeared on Capital this week to discuss her new book with breakfast show hosts Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby. 'Hexy B*tch' is set for release this week and promises to be what happens if you cross Scooby-Doo, Mystic Meg, and some ghost hunting equipment.
During the interview on Tuesday, the 'This Country' star shared the surprising and comical story of her attempt to join a witches' coven, as well as who she'd haunt if she ever became a ghost.
Daisy explained her serious effort to become a witch, revealing that it wasn’t as straightforward as she had expected. "It was harder to get into than Soho Farmhouse," she joked. "There were all these applications you had to fill out, and then you had to write a three-page pledge about why you wanted to join. Then I had a Zoom with the high priest and high priestess, and this went on for about a month of rigorous application."
When asked what the leaders of the coven were like, Daisy offered a surprising twist. "I think they were swingers," she said, explaining why she ultimately decided not to go through with the coven membership. "I didn’t end up joining because I think it was a sort of mask for what was really going on. But yeah, it was such a shame, because I would love to be able to be a witch. Sabrina the teenage witch, you know."

The conversation then turned to ghosts and hauntings, where Daisy offered her own humorous thoughts on the typical portrayal of ghosts. "They’re always so miserable, wailing and crying, and they all sort of look like the girl from 'The Ring'. It’s like, brush your hair, put some foundation on, go to a nightclub. You know, haunt that!"
When Sian Welby asked if she’d ever considered who she might haunt if she were a ghost, Daisy quickly responded. "I would love to haunt Wayne Lineker, that would be brilliant!" When asked if she'd make a beeline for him, Daisy confidently said, "A thousand per cent!"
Daisy’s new book, 'Hexy B*tch', is a blend of ghost hunting, witchcraft, and mystery, promising plenty of entertainment. The book is available for pre-order now on Amazon.
You can listen to Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby every weekday from 6 to 10 am across the UK, on air and via Global Player, the official Capital app.
