With a month to go until the new 'Ghostbusters' movie opens in cinemas, the latest trailer has dropped giving fans an idea of what to expect from 'Afterlife'.
The new trailer, clocking in at just over two minutes long, teases more about the upcoming 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' movie than any of the previous teasers, in fact, perhaps a little too much.
The official international trailer, which was shared by Sony Pictures today, opens with Mckenna Grace's character, Phoebe, asking her mother - played by Carrie Coon - "what kind of scientist was grandpa?"
In the movie, Phoebe and her brother, Trevor played by 'Stranger Things' star Finn Wolfhard, go on a journey to uncover the lost legacy of their grandfather, original Ghostbuster Egon Spengler. As they attempt to "uncover the past" in order to "save the future."
The movie, which also stars Paul Rudd in the role of a local school teacher, is set in the rural town of Summerville. Where the new generation of Ghostbusters battle a series of paranormal events that seem to be emanating from an old mine in the small town.
Although the movie revolves around Phoebe, Trevor and their classmate known as 'Podcast', expect some blasts from the past, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts will cameo as their original characters in the 2021 movie.
In the latest trailer we see a little more of the mine, which was worked by the Shandor Mining Company, a reference to Ivo Shandor, the leader of the Cult of Gozer which was the focus of the original 1984 movie.
There's plenty of shots of ghost traps, proton packs, ECTO-1, and a ton of supernatural action, which is likely to really get fans of the original movie's ectoplasm pumping.
We also see the new incarnation of the terror dog, which originally hunted down Louis Tully and captured Dana Barrett in their apartment building on Central Park West. This time round the iconic 'Ghostbusters' demon has been recreated using a mix of puppetry and CGI, rather than claymation.
