Staff regular report ghostly goings on, from feeling like they are being watched from the a dark corner of the pub and customers have complained that they've been tapped on the shoulder by an unseen force, believed to be the spirit of a delivery boy who died falling down the stairs.
You don't have to go far to find another ghost, the adjoining building on Buckingham Street. Number 14 was the home of Victorian artist William Etty. He painted nudes in his home studio, which is now said to be haunted by a happy female ghost, the spirit of one of his models.
