Barri Ghai Stabbed By A Menacing Spirit Haunting A Scottish Home In New 'Help! My House Is Haunted'

A brand-new series of 'Help! My House Is Haunted' dropped on Discovery+ today, kicking off with an investigation of a house in Oban, Scotland, which resulted in "the weirdest thing that's ever happened" to one of the investigation team.

Natasha and Ross called in the team after their dream home became a place of nightmares in the hopes that paranormal investigators Ian Lawman, Jayne Harris, and Barri Ghai could help cleanse their home, allowing them to move forward with their lives and begin to raise a family.

In the episode, whilst they attempted to connect with the menacing spirit, Barri felt a pain in the back of his leg and discovered three drawing pins puncturing his skin. "What the fk is that? Something just stabbed me. Something just stabbed me in the back of my leg. Am I bleeding? How the hell...where did they come from? Sorry, I'm just freaked out. That's the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me," says Barri, horrified and confused.

Since moving into their 1980s four-bedroom terraced house a year ago, the couple have experienced constant thuds, waking up with random bruises, and smoke alarms going off unprompted. They say their home has become inhabited by evil spirits, who haunt and torment them regularly.

"My independence is completely gone, I can't even be alone in my own home," a dejected Natasha says. "I just feel like it wants everyone to leave me on my own because it's more active when I am alone, and I feel like it's just trying to get to me mentally," Natasha explains. "I worry that there is something evil here. In recent days I've been having violent dreams, disturbing visions of fire - it's getting invasive now. I found unexplained bruises on myself," Natasha's distressed partner Ross adds.

The torment has been so unsettling for the couple that they have even paused their plans to start a family. "We had all these hopes of building a family here and having lots of little children running around," Natasha reminisces. "I can imagine them running up and down the stairs. But a house like this, as it stands – that's not safety, that's not comfort. I can't put a child there," Ross fears. "Giving up the home or not having children is heartbreaking. The team is our last hope," a desperate Natasha pleads.

After the 'Help!' team arrives at the property and begins to carry out their investigations, they turn to their Alice Box in an attempt to communicate with any lurking presence. This device is said to allow spirits to communicate through a preloaded library of thousands of words.

To the team's surprise, the entity immediately fires a warning shot at them by setting off the smoke alarm in the house. "I think this is a warning. We need to be careful," says a wary Ian, alerting the others. Jayne makes an interesting symbolic connection between Natasha and the setting off of the smoke alarm. "Do you know what's weird though? This kind of connection between the dreams you've been having about fire... it's almost as if the smoke alarm going off, it's trying to trigger your worst fears, it's trying to intimidate you," Jayne explains. "I dream about house fires all the time," Natasha replies, dazed.

As Natasha has been the most affected by the paranormal activity in the house, the team decides the best way to confront any entity is via an Estes experiment, which involves Natasha wearing headphones. Through the headphones, she can hear the output of a spirit box, a ghost hunting device that rapidly scans through the radio spectrum, creating a continuous stream of white noise and bursts of radio broadcasts. Some paranormal investigators believe that spirits can manipulate these sounds to form words and phrases. It's Natasha's job to speak aloud any responses she hears through the headphones while Jayne stands nearby asking questions. Natasha is unable to hear Jayne's questions due to the noise-cancelling properties of the headphones.

"Who are you?" Jayne calls out, which is met with a response of laughter from Natasha on behalf of the entity. "Do you think this is amusing?" she asks. "Shush!" it responds. "It's growling," Natasha tells Jayne. "Why do you growl? Are you trying to scare us?" - "YES!" Jayne continues to ask further questions, getting immediate, seemingly intelligent responses despite Natasha not being able to hear Jayne.

Describing the impressive session on a walkie-talkie to her teammates, Jayne says, "Oh my god, this is amazing, guys. This is absolutely incredible. There is no way on earth Natasha can hear my questions, and the responses are bang on. This thing is speaking." Barri feels the experiment has shed some light on what they are dealing with in the house, stating, "That 'Estes' experiment was mind-blowing, but it has confirmed that we are dealing with something very dark."

Later in the episode, Natasha and Ross leave the team to continue investigating through the night. As the team moves into the bedroom, Jayne feels something beneath the bed grab at her foot and try to pull her under. "That's totally just freaked me out. Something's just reached for my ankle, and I'm not even joking," a disturbed Jayne relays. Things are not right in this house.
