The 'Help! My House Is Haunted' Team Discover The Disturbing Effects Of "Soul Tapping"

In 2018, after the sad passing of her aunt, mum-of-four Sadie turned to a well-known local witch for help, in hope that some psychic readings would help her to cope with her loss. However, after the witch's visit, things took a dark turn for Sadie, who had been living a happy family life in their Victorian semi-detached house in Winsford, Cheshire.

"I feel a big male presence. He feels very, very large. I always feel like he's very, very close, stood next to me. I've seen lots and lots of shadows running past quite quickly, scratching upstairs. My children do wake up a lot in the night crying," she recounts, before explaining how it has also had a big impact on her appearance as well as her relationship with her mum, with the dark feeling even leading to her impulsively tattooing the word ‘insane' on her own face.

"When we first moved here it was very light and spacious, lots of cream walls. But since the witch visited, bit by bit, I've changed most rooms to dark grey and black. I have changed my appearance quite a lot. I never used to have tattoos. I impulsively had ‘insane' tattooed on my face, which my mum absolutely hates. She thinks that the house has some influence on the way that I now dress and look, and it's pushed us apart. The minute she comes in this house we start to clash," Sadie admits.

In the fifth episode of the current sixth series of 'Help! My House Is Haunted', which aired on Really last night and is available to stream on discovery+, Sadie decides enough is enough, and turns to the team of paranormal investigators Barri Ghai, Ian Lawman and Jayne Harris in an attempt to detach herself from the dark entity that has turned her life upside down.

Incredible footage captured by the team's cameras shows what Barri, Ian and Jayne believe to be a spirit communicating with them by lighting up a speaker as they ask it questions. Can the team find answers as to how witchcraft has impacted Sadie's house? Is there an entity controlling Sadie which has led to this dark turn? Will Sadie mend her relationship with mother Annette?

As the paranormal investigation team make their way to the Cheshire house, psychic medium Ian, who relies solely on his psychic senses, instantly senses the dark energy around the case. "I feel very nervous, that's normally indicating that there's something quite dark, potentially possession… my spiritual guides are preparing me for something, so have your wits about you please," he urges Barri and Jayne who head off to conduct their own research. "Woah. You can feel the energy," says Ian as soon as he walks into the house. "It feels heavy, you can taste it. I'm concerned that potentially we could be dealing with something quite negative, which is worrying… I've just actually seen what appears to be like a black mass or mist on top of the stairs, but it doesn't seem to be moving. It just seems to be hovering, so it could be a shadow but I think I'd better go have a look. Hello? This house don't feel right."

After meeting with Sadie and mother Annette throughout the day to discuss their concerns, as night approaches, the team decide to stay overnight in the house in an attempt to connect with any spirits present. They place cameras across the entire property, which are under full surveillance by the team in the nerve centre. Barri also uses a structured light sensor (SLS) camera, a ghost hunting device capable of detecting human-like shapes in its field of view and highlighting them on its screen in the form of a stick figure.

Barri notices a figure stood at the top of the stairs, pointing at the team, beckoning them to go the attic. "This looks like a human spirit, but why is it telling me to go upstairs?", he wonders before recalling that Annette had talked of a shadow figure she had seen in the attic. As he walks up the stairs to the attic, the door unexpectedly slams behind him, completely unprovoked. "Guys! The door's slammed shut. It's closed. We can't get out!" Barri cries out to the rest of the team.

Later on in the evening, as the team release Barri from the attic, he joins Ian and Jayne in Sadie's bedroom, who are using an Alice Box as a means of communicating with the elusive entity. As the team call out questions to the spirit, in shocking scenes that leave Ian, Barri and Jayne stunned, the spirit begins to communicate by flashing up lights on to a speaker in the bedroom. Describing it as "a burst of energy", Jayne marvels, baffled, pointing out that "there are no devices linked to this speaker and no logical reason for it to light up." "I've never seen that happen before!" Barri exclaims. "Can you make the colours on the speaker change? Can you make yellow colours appear on there please?" he asks, to test the spirit's ability to communicate via the speaker light. As the speaker flashes up yellow accordingly, the team jump back in astonishment. "Oh my god, that's f**king nuts!", Barri cries, putting his hands over his mouth in shock.

Despite the team's best efforts to banish any spirits from the property throughout the night, they decide that the only way to get rid of this attachment is by severing the tie between the spirit and Sadie directly and so invite her back in to the home. "We think that in using witchcraft in a light way, in a positive way, in a powerful way, that's probably the best chance you've got of banishing this," Jayne explains to Sadie.

Whilst Jayne performs an ancient cord cutting ritual to sever the tie, Ian guides Sadie in a visualisation technique to help bring the entity forward. Will the team be able to banish the entity from Sadie's home? Will Annette get her beloved daughter back from the evil spirit that she feels has been controlling her for years? Will the light prevail through the darkness?
