'The Haunting Of Bly Manor' was released on Netflix today and viewers have found themselves distracted from the show's supernatural plot as they try to spot hidden ghosts in the show.
Fans are on high alert for ghostly figures in the background of shots in each of the nine episodes after a whole army of ghosts were spotted in the series that proceeded Bly Manor. If you missed all of the hidden ghosts in 'The Haunting Of Hill House'
you can see them here.
Even before the show dropped on Netflix, fans were already primed to look out for subtle ghosts. The show's creator, Mike Flanagan said"we're having an enormous amount of fun talking about how to take some of the ideas from season one about hidden ghosts and things like that, and find new gears for them this time."
In fact, even a poster promoting the new series featured two hidden ghosts behind the show's cast.
So, we know we need to be looking out for ghosts while watching the series, but the tricky bit is spotting them as they are often only half in shot, obscured by something, peering through a small hole or are an out of focus blur in the background.
Our count only includes hidden ghosts, not the ones that are prominent and pivotal to the story.

Below is a complete list of all of the hidden ghosts in 'The Haunting Of Bly' that we have found so far. If you have seen something we've missed, then let us know in the comments below.
Episode 1: 'The Great Good Place'
The most prominent
ghosts in the first episode is the dark figure seen by Dani. He has eyes like headlights and vanishes as soon as he appears. Since this ghost isn't ever hidden, we haven't included him in our count. We later learn that this apparition is in fact Dani's deceased fiancè.
The first ghost in the series is hidden in plain sight as Dani Clayton arrives at Bly Manor. Because we don't really know what we're looking for at this early point in the episode, what we now know is a ghost could be mistaken for a coat stand.
In becomes apparent that we weren't looking at a coat stand earlier when the same dark hatted figure appears in the bathroom between Flora and Miles' bedrooms. We get a couple of glimpses of this figure, first stood behind the door and then the same figure reflected in the mirror.
We later learn that this is the ghost of a plague doctor. He is seen several times in this episode as a dark cloaked figure.
As Dani is getting acquainted with Flora's dolls, the ghost of the plague doctor is seen in the mirror over her shoulder.
Moments later what appears to be the same dark figure is again watching over Dani. At first it's hard to tell if this is a ghost or just something in the background, but look for subtle movement... we don't think it was our imagination.
Again the ghost is hidden in plain sight, taking up the foreground of the shot. It's just not clear that we're actually looking at the same dark figure until the angle changed...
Now with the camera in front of Dani, we can clearly see the shape in the foreground in that last shot was the plague doctor again.
Another scene in Flora's bedroom and once again we see the figure watching over Dani as she puts Flora to bed.
Seconds later the figure has moved. The reflection in the mirror shows it is now in the room with them.
Then moments later the same plague doctor can be seen in the bathroom behind Miles.
When Dani is tricked into going into the wardrobe by the kids a dark figure can be seen in the mirror.
Towards the end of the episode a ghostly plague doctor can be seen watching Dani from the darkness at the end of the hallway.
Episode 2: 'The Pupil'
Since much of the first half of episode to is set six month's in the past and away from the house at Miles' boarding school, there aren't so many subtle spooks in this episode. But back at Bly Manor once darkness had fallen, the spooks were back in force.
The first ghost to look out for isn't hidden as such, it's fairly obvious. This one's not so hidden but blink and you'd miss it. While Dani is collecting Flora's doll from the basement one of the old toys in a pile there moved.
As Dani walks though the house looking for Miles what looks like the apparition of a young child can be seen stood at the end of a hallway.
Later while playing hide and seek the outline of a familiar dark figure can be seen standing on the upstairs landing.
This one is a bit more tricky to spot, but we're pretty sure it's there. As Dani opens a door while looking for the kids, a figure can just about be made out stood but obscured by the bright light coming in through the window.

Episode 3: 'The Two Faces - Part One'
While Dani and Hannah talk to the police officer, what looks like the same dark robed ghost can be seen behind them.
Moments later when the officer is leaving, an apparition in uniform can be seen standing behind Hannah.
We can't decide on this one behind Jamie. Is this a ghost in the statue garden... or just a statue. It does look strangely out of place.
The uniformed ghost makes another appearance in a flashback which shows Flora playing with the former au pair Rebecca. This time it's clear to see that he is a solider.
This one is difficult to spot in the darkness until the lightning strikes outside illuminating the apparition of a solider.
As Dani walks through the house in the morning, the ghost of a little boy can be seen tucked away in the background.
Ghost or continuity error? We're not sure but something definitely changes behind Dani between shots. We think a door closed between shots, hence the sunlight vanishing and the dark mass moving out of shot.
Is this our imagination or is that the hat-wearing ghost behind Hannah in the kitchen?
Episode 4: 'The Way It Came'
With a lot of flashbacks to Dani's past in this episode, it's a little light on hidden ghosts, but we do get to know Dani's much more prominent ghost a little better and see him several times.
The first ghost in episode four can be seen stood at the back of the foyer when Owen gets back from his mother's funeral.
When Dani returns to the bonfire a dark shadow is visible watching her from the distance.

Episode 5: 'The Alter Of The Dead'
It's in episode five that we started to realise that the hidden ghosts in this series might be easier to spot than we originally thought. As for the ghosts hiding in the background that we know are ghost...
During a flashback sequence we see the Wingraves arrive home. Soon after, as Hannah enters the house, we see someone lurking under the stairs.
The faceless child ghost now has a face thanks to Flora, he can be seen stood in the corner behind Hannah.
Episode 6: 'The Jolly Corner'
This ghost wasn't really hidden, the appearance of this faceless child was an obvious although fleeting glimpse, but since all the ghosts seem to be coming out of the woodwork and are no longer hidden, we didn't have anything else to show you from this episode.
Episode 7: 'The Two Faces - Part Two'
With so many ghosts out to socialise, there weren't any hidden ones to spot that we noticed, other than the faceless boy stood in the corner as Rebecca entered the old wing.

Episode 8: 'The Romance Of Certain Old Clothes'
In this episode we travel back to Bly Manor back in the 1700s where we meet former residents Perdita and Viola. After Viola's death her portrait moves and shows anger towards Perdita, who after her death married her husband. It's not a particularly hidden happening, but it is very subtle.
Episode 9: 'The Beast In The Jungle'
There's a few very obvious appearances of the Lady of the Lake in the final episode, but no hidden ghosts as such, mostly because the story follows Dani as she leaves Bly and her life after. Plus most of the spooks have been dealt with.
