With the start of a new year, Higgypop has quietly undergone its most significant transformation yet - a complete rebuild of the website from the ground up. If you've noticed things feeling a little sleeker and faster, that's because we've spent the last few months reimagining every aspect of the site to make it better than ever.

The last major overhaul of Higgypop was over a decade ago, and since then, the site has grown into a massive hub for paranormal enthusiasts, now hosting over 6,000 pages of content. This scale made the revamp no small feat, but we're thrilled to finally share the results with you.

What's Changed?

At first glance, you might not spot too many differences. We've intentionally kept our familiar colour scheme and iconic logo, and all the content you know and love is still here - only now it's presented on faster, more streamlined pages with much less clutter.

The most noticeable upgrades include a brand-new main navigation menu and an improved search tool. These changes aim to make it easier than ever for you to dive deeper into our vast library of paranormal articles, quizzes, and features. With so many pages on the site, finding specific content had become a challenge, but now you can explore and discover with ease, starting right from the homepage.

Behind the scenes, the rebuild ensures the site is running on modern frameworks and technologies. This doesn't just mean a faster and more secure experience for you - it also gives us the flexibility to experiment with creative new features and content ideas in the future.

One of the biggest new additions is in-page commenting. Previously, we encouraged discussions around our content on platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). However, with growing concerns around the sometimes-hostile nature of social media comment sections and the changing landscape of these platforms, we've brought the conversation home.

You can now comment directly on articles in a fully moderated, open, and friendly environment - without the pressures of social media or the need to tie your thoughts to your personal accounts. It's a safe space to share your opinions, experiences, and insights, and we can't wait to hear what you think.

Higgypop As An App

Another exciting new feature is that you can now install Higgypop as an app. Using progressive web app (PWA) technology, you can add Higgypop to your phone's home screen for quick access. Simply visit the site on your mobile browser and look for the "Add to Home Screen" option. Once installed, the app will function just like a native app, offering a seamless way to explore the site.

Looking Ahead

This rebuild is more than just a refresh - it's a foundation for the future. We're excited to continue bringing you the best paranormal content, now on a faster, cleaner, and more user-friendly platform. Whether you're here to explore the latest paranormal news, revisit classic features, or connect with like-minded enthusiasts, we're confident the new site will offer an improved experience.

Take a look around, try out the new features, and let us know what you think in the comments section - we'd love to hear your thoughts.
