In a new second instalment of Discovery+'s 'The Yorkshire Exorcist' psychic medium Ian Lawman attempts to help Mark, who believes he's been living with the attachment of an evil entity for the past 11 years.

Mark says the daily consequences of this attachment are so frightful that he has had to completely change his lifestyle, adapting to the entity's needs. "I've spent more than £8000 on people like psychic mediums, shamans, hypnotherapy... I've exhausted everything," a desperate Mark explains. "I just live day-to-day, hoping one day somebody can remove this from me,"

Mark claims his struggles began with unexplained illness. "I started becoming really sick every day. I'd see doctors, and they'd check me over every time, but everything would come back negative," he says. He believes the entity makes its presence known to him constantly. "To make me aware that it's with me 24/7, it comes close to me so I feel it on my skin vibrating. When I move from room to room, I hear a clicking sound immediately."

He describes how these experiences have impacted his sleep. "I go to bed at 7pm so I can get some rest, knowing I'm going to be woken up by vibrating on my calf. I fall asleep, then I feel it dump itself on my leg and vibrate. The sickness comes on within three seconds. I start wanting to throw up and get pain all over my body, which is very, very scary," he confesses, visibly distraught.

The case, which is available to stream now exclusively on Discovery+, sees Ian team up with paranormal historian Kate Cherrell on a quest to ensure that the negative entity's attachment to Mark doesn't become a more sinister possession.
The ominous entity has continued to put immense strain on Mark's relationship with partner Paul, who lives in Otley, Yorkshire. Meeting each other a year ago, the pair are a perfect, happy match, but Mark's paranormal unease is starting to prove a distraction for them both. "If the entity was gone, my relationship would prosper so much," Mark says. "We would be able to do the same things every other couple does. I used to go out to gigs, out for meals... now I just fight my way through the day and that's my life," Mark sadly admits.

In his first meeting with Mark, Ian is keen to understand the intentions of the spirit attaching itself to Mark. Investigating whether the entity is affected by the presence of religion, Ian passes Mark a holy crucifix to see how Mark's body reacts. "How do you feel holding that," Ian asks. "I guess not great, it's made my hairs go up," Mark responds. "I feel like I can't look at it actually. I don't think it wants me to hold it," Mark worries, pushing the cross away. Mark's bodily reaction to the crucifix suggests to Ian that something sinister is at play, not least as the 'clicking' sound Mark talks of is often associated with demonic entities. Mark is desperate to rid the entity from his life, but also appears reluctant, as should anything go wrong, this could anger the entity even more. "It's already warned me not to do what I'm doing... it's trying to not make go through with this. Ultimately, I think if this doesn't work it's going to be me that pays..."

Ian prepares for the exorcism in Mark's living room, in the hopes of defeating the evil entity, but admits that it will be a "battle". Ian begins to recite bible verses, while Kate gently encourages Mark to call out to the spirit, imploring it to leave him and Paul alone! "Show it your energy, it's not going to ruin your relationship, you're too strong," Kate encourages. "You need to go, you're not welcome with me! You will not get between me and Paul! Get out of my world. You have no place with me, I don't love you, I detest you...you're scum," Mark bellows to the entity. Ian then uses holy water to further minimise the hold the entity has over Mark, which seemingly has the entity scurrying. "I felt a cold breeze, something's moving," Kate informs Ian. "Every day that Paul is with me brings me strength, and you know that. That's why you don't want him around. I instruct you to leave, I'm not asking you to leave. YOU HAVE TO LEAVE! I'm ordering you to p off, f out of my life," Mark screams.

Will the power of prayer, water and love be enough to rid Mark of his torrid daily torment, allowing him to begin enjoying his relationship with partner Paul? With time running out and an anguished soul desperate to be free, Ian Lawman faces his most harrowing case yet. The Yorkshire Exorcist II is available to stream exclusively on Discovery+ now.
