One particularly striking investigation took place in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Here, the team felt they were dealing with no fewer than 60 imps. Barri Ghai, one of the show's investigators, has even experienced what he believed to be an imp infestation in his own home.

Could this growing media portrayal of imps suggest there has been a rise in imp activity or at least an increase in reported sightings? The increased visibility brought to lesser-known entities like imps by shows like 'Help! My House Is Haunted' could lead more people to identify and report imp-like activity in their own experiences.

As imps become featured more prominently in popular culture, people may be more likely to attribute certain paranormal experiences to imps, whereas previously the experience might have previously been categorised as a poltergeist encounter.

The existence of imps, like many paranormal entities, is a subject of debate.
