Yvette Fielding has been hunting spooks on Most Haunted since 2002, but she doesn't do it alone. Over the show's 16 year history, who have been the longest serving members of the team? We've totted up the number of episodes for each of the cast and crew, including mediums, historians, camera men and parapsychologists.
Of course the show's longest running member is Yvette herself, who has been hosting the show since its inception and has featured in every episode to date, that's 247 as of March 2018. Her record is matched by her husband, the show's executive producer Karl Beattie. Karl has been on hand at every investigation, either in front of or behind the camera.
The next longest running member of the team is Stuart Torevell. He's been a consistent member of the gang as long as Yvette and Karl have, but hasn't featured in quite so many episodes. In fact Stuart missed out on quite a few shows in the late-2017 series, leading some fans to worry that he might have left the show.
Because Stuart is sometimes credited as a member of the cast and other times listed with the crew as a camera man, it makes it hard to get the exact number of episodes Stuart has appeared in. On the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) he only appears as 'himself' 73 times. If you add together the number of episodes he appears in as himself and the episodes he's credited to have worked on, then you get the 210.
This number puts Stuart far ahead of Ciarán O'Keeffe, who appears at number four on the list. Ciarán was the show's resident parapsychologist between 2004 and 2010. Ciarán has featured in half of the episodes of Most Haunted to date.
In fifth place is historian, Richard Felix who appeared on the show between 2003 and 2006, the show didn't feature another historian until 2008, three series later. It was Lesley Smith who took over the role, but she only lasted for 46 episodes, half of Richard's achievement.
The show has used various mediums over the years, including David Wells, Gordon Smith, Brian Shepherd, Chris Conway and most famously, Derek Acorah.
Of course Derek Acorah is the longest running of the mediums on the show, appearing in a total of 93 episodes between 2001 and 2005. This puts him at number six on the list, with David Wells trailing behind at number eight with 69 shows under his belt. They are followed by Brian Shepherd, Chris Conway and then Gordon Smith, who fail to make the top ten.
However, as of 2014 they haven't been included in the show. This is due to Yvette's dim view of psychics. In an interview she said, "I believe that there are people out there who truly are psychic, they truly are spiritual and are mediums as we call them. But I think sadly the majority of people who call themselves psychic and mediums that are on the television, that do theatre shows, that seek money for tickets and so on, I think they're charlatans, they've been found out, they are fake, they are frauds."
Since the show ditched mediums, they've had demonologist Fred Batt among their ranks. Fred first appeared in the show in 2003 as a guest in two episodes, one of which was filmed in the South London nightclub he owned at the time. He became a regular member of the team in 2014 and since then has joined them on 72 investigations, making him the seventh longest serving member of the team.
Other than Stuart, the only member of the production team to make it in to the top ten, is sound guy, Darren Hutchinson. He only joined the team in 2014, but he's featured in almost every episode since then. A total of 68, which puts Darren at number nine.
In tenth place on our list is Glen Hunt, he's been the resident skeptic on the show since 2015 and has featured in every single episode since he first appeared, a total of 60 episodes. Glen narrowly beats Gregg Smith, who also joined the team in 2015 as a camera man. However, Gregg has appeared in one less episode than Glen, meaning he misses out on a spot in our top ten.
Another current member of the team who fails to make the top ten is Yvette's pet dog Watson. The three-year-old bulldog is the newest member of the team, joining in 2017. But as not all locations the team visit allow dogs, to date Watson has only appeared in 11 episodes.
