NewsNation has aired a highly anticipated interview with Jake Barber, a former US Air Force veteran and whistleblower who claims to have been directly involved in the retrieval of nonhuman craft through a covert government programme.

The special included an 11-second clip that appears to show the retrieval of a smooth, white, egg-shaped object hanging from a military helicopter suspended in a cradle. Artefacts in the leaked footage seem to reveal that the footage has been recorded from another screen - presumably the screen of an in-aircraft night vision system.
The footage is shot from a helicopter with a familiar green night vision tint. It appears to show a smooth, white, egg-shaped object said to be six metres long, apparently suspended in a cradle below the helicopter on a 45-metre rope. The object is seen being carefully lowered to the ground at an as-yet undisclosed location by the pilot. The egg-shaped object has no markings and no visible means of propulsion - there's no visible evidence that it can even fly for that matter.

The footage was aired as part of 'Hunting UFOs: The Crash Retrieval Whistleblower', a NewsNation special hosted by Ross Coulthart, which also featured an interview with Barber.

Some had dubbed the event "disclosure day" in anticipation, but reactions have been mixed since the footage aired. Many viewers have criticised the clip as underwhelming, overhyped, and damaging to the credibility of UFO research. While some connected the object to historical UFO cases like the Socorro incident, others speculated it was a weather balloon or dismissed the explanations as inadequate. Overall, the reaction leans heavily towards frustration and ridicule, with only a few expressing cautious support or optimism.

During the interview, he spoke about handling unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) that he believes are of extraterrestrial origin, along with extraordinary personal experiences and startling medical consequences from his time in the programme.

Barber spoke about his role as a helicopter pilot tasked with recovering downed craft, often operating under the cover of secrecy. While some of the objects were terrestrial and classified military projects, others, he claims, were unlike anything he'd encountered before.

Barber talked about working on "The Range," which is believed to be the Skunk Works "proving grounds" where highly classified aircraft and defence projects are developed and tested. The whistleblower spoke of objects changing colour and shape. However, he claims that not all this tech was of human origin.

Ross asked Barber to recount the moment he realised he was involved in the retrieval of alien technology. He told the award-winning Australian investigative journalist, "It became very clear the first time our communication process and procedure was modified. And then just visually looking at the object on the ground, you could tell that it was extraordinary and anomalous. It was not human."

Barber went on to describe the unusual craft in detail, saying, "I saw an egg, a white egg." He noted that the object lacked any visible propulsion system or thermal signature, adding, "I was operating at night under night vision goggles. It was quite clear. I flipped them up and down, looking at it a couple of different ways."

Beyond describing his encounters with anomalous craft, Barber revealed that he and his team were authorised to use lethal force to protect sensitive materials and were frequently exposed to mysterious "high-value targets" in the form of sensor data and other classified equipment. He also spoke of suffering severe health issues, including alopecia and heart problems, after these missions, conditions he believes were caused by exposure to unknown materials.

Perhaps most intriguingly, Barber's account introduced the concept of "Psionics" – individuals with purported psychic abilities used to summon or interact with UAP. He claims to have witnessed these abilities firsthand during missions where UAPs were reportedly summoned and even engaged in apparent "dogfights" in the sky.

The interview also revealed that Barber's experiences extend beyond retrieval missions. He spoke of confrontations with rogue elements seeking to suppress sensitive information and his ongoing efforts to push for government transparency regarding UAPs. Barber claims to have met with congressional staff, including representatives of Senator Marco Rubio, to provide insight into what he believes is a long-running, highly secretive government programme.

What We Know About Jake Barber

Jake Barber is a former U.S. Air Force veteran and helicopter pilot who claims to have worked on a secretive military programme tasked with retrieving downed aircraft, including craft of nonhuman origin. While little is publicly known about Barber's personal background or military career, his claims are supported by testimony from three other veterans, lending weight to his allegations.

Barber describes himself as having been contracted by the military to recover both terrestrial and potentially nonhuman technology. Beyond his role as a helicopter pilot, further details about his service history or credentials have not yet been disclosed.

According to Barber's newly-created X account, he is behind a privately funded, public disclosure called Skywatcher that describes itself as "an elite team of aerial intelligence experts and scientists."
NewsNation has corroborated elements of Barber's military background and obtained video footage of one of these retrieval missions, showing a helicopter recovering a craft that closely resembles the "egg" Barber described.

Ross Coulthart and NewsNation have a track record of bringing these sorts of revelations to public attention. Ross himself has previously conducted high-profile interviews with whistleblowers and military personnel. His interview with Barber aired on NewsNation, the US network that aired an interview with David Grusch in 2023, which led to congressional hearings on the subject.

Grusch testified before Congress that the US has been involved in a long-term UFO retrieval program and has already recovered alien spacecraft. His fellow witness, whistleblower Luis Elizondo, also confirmed this as part of the hearing. Now Barber has come forward, not only with his own insights to back up the claim but also with video evidence.
