'Final Destination: Bloodlines' (May)
The sixth instalment of the 'Final Destination' franchise follows a college student who experiences nightmares foretelling her family's deaths. A modern remake of 'The Wolf Man' directed by Leigh Whannell. Christopher Abbott stars as Blake, a man who barricades his family inside a farmhouse after an attack by a mysterious creature. As the night progresses, he undergoes a transformation, endangering his wife (Julia Garner) and daughter. The film reunites Whannell with Blumhouse, who produced 'The Invisible Man' (2020), and aims to deliver a modern take on the werewolf myth.
'The Black Phone 2' (October)
Scott Derrickson returns to direct the sequel to 'The Black Phone'. Ethan Hawke reprises his role as "The Grabber", despite his fate in the original. Young actors Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw also return. Plot details remain secret, but the film is expected to explore further connections between the living and the dead while maintaining the gritty 1970s aesthetic of the original.
'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' (December)
The sequel to Blumhouse's adaptation of the popular video game. Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard return, with Emma Tammi directing again. The first film revealed the haunted animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and the sequel is expected to deepen the franchise's lore, introducing new threats.
'Until Dawn' (April)
Based on the PlayStation survival-horror game, 'Until Dawn' is directed by David F. Sandberg.
