Danny Robins, described as the UK's "go-to ghost guy" and the host of the paranormal podcast 'Uncanny', has unveiled his plans for a new series called 'Haunted History'.
Danny and the team behind supernatural hit podcasts like 'The Battersea Poltergeist', 'The Witch Farm', and of course, 'Uncanny', have kept listeners on the edge of their seats with riveting tales of UFOs in Yorkshire, student halls troubled by pure distilled evil, and summer holidays that have turned into nightmares.
Now, Danny embarks on a new journey into the eerie corridors of history's most bone-chilling paranormal stories with 'Haunted History'. The series will feature stories of haunted castles, spectral dogs, witches, and phantom nuns, all narrated in Danny's unique style, complete with an original music score.
Danny will attempt to uncover the haunted histories of locations like the legendary Borley Rectory, once notorious as the most haunted house in England before it was demolished. He'll also be on the trail of the black monk of 30 East Drive in Pontefract, an ordinary former council house that may well lay claim to Borley Rectory's haunted title in the present day.
Not content with exploring these iconic paranormal hotspots, 'Haunted History' will also probe the fascinating case of 50 Berkeley Square, reputed to be London's most haunted spot and its oldest unaltered structure. Previously a private home to Prime Minister George Canning, who claimed he heard disturbing noises and experienced psychic phenomena, the building is currently occupied by the antique book dealers, Maggs Bros, who have been there since the 1930s.
Danny announced the new series at the Podcast Show 2023, telling attendees that 'Haunted History' will explore "historic cases and the whole history of the paranormal, going back thousands of years to ghost beliefs. This will be a fun and different arrow in our quiver."
'Uncanny' has already fascinated listeners with its nearly five million plays on BBC Sounds and three million downloads worldwide. With captivating first-hand accounts of ghostly encounters and the downright bizarre, the popular show is set to switch to the small screen, armed with inexplicably mystifying tales that defy logic.
No release date has been confirmed for 'Haunted History' yet, but there's plenty more to come from Danny over the coming months, including the exciting news that 'Uncanny' is set to make a spectacular leap to television with three hour-long specials scheduled to premiere on BBC Two and iPlayer later this year.
If you want more, then you can listen to 'Uncanny', 'The Battersea Poltergeist' and Danny's 2022 series, 'The Witch Farm' in their entirety on BBC Sounds as we await the unveiling of 'Haunted History'.
