Fans of Netflix's hit series ‘Stranger Things’ have eagerly awaited updates on the show’s final season for over two years. Finally, in celebration of Stranger Things Day held on November 6, the day Will Byers vanished in the show's first season, Netflix has given fans something to get them excited: the episode titles for season five.

This final chapter, confirmed for a 2025 release, will consist of eight episodes, each teasing new mysteries and nostalgic throwbacks to the 1980s. The titles revealed are as follows:

In a teaser video released on Netflix's YouTube channel, which garnered over 1.5 million views within a day, viewers are treated to nothing more than these titles and a single, cryptic message: "In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins." The video leaves fans guessing, particularly with the title of the second episode, 'The Vanishing Of...' - its full name blurred out, echoing the haunting season one title 'The Vanishing Of Will Byers'.

The final season promises another dose of supernatural intrigue set against the backdrop of pop culture and music from the late 1980s. While plot details remain tightly guarded, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have shared that season five will return to Hawkins, Indiana, rekindling the original dynamics of Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin. This marks a shift back to the show's roots, as season four saw the group divided across different locations.

Season four, which premiered in July 2022, introduced fans to Vecna, a dark entity who pushed the show's horror elements to new levels. The season's success even sparked a global revival of Kate Bush's 1985 hit 'Running Up That Hill', which quickly rose back up the charts after being featured in the series. With Vecna still lurking in fans' minds, season five is set to bring even higher stakes and suspense.

The core cast will return, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and Priah Ferguson. Linda Hamilton, famous for her role in 'Terminator', will join them, adding to the show's tradition of spotlighting iconic 1980s actors.

Season five has faced numerous delays. Filming, initially scheduled for last year, was postponed due to industry-wide strikes by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA, the union representing actors. The Duffer Brothers, committed to the series' integrity, paused production out of respect for the writers' strike, despite having completed scripts. When SAG-AFTRA later joined the strike, production faced further setbacks, shifting the final season's release to 2025.

The final episode, intriguingly titled 'The Rightside Up', hints at a long-awaited return to normality in Hawkins - but one question remains: will Barb ever make it home?
