Stranger Things Season 4 Trailer
'Stranger Things' returns to Netflix on May 27 and today fans got a final clue of what they can expect from the fourth season of the much-loved supernatural series as a new teaser trailer dropped.

The countdown to the release of the final trailer for season four started on Monday evening as a 24-hour live stream kicked off featuring the Creel Clock. This eerie clock has been prominent in promotions for the show since the fourth season was announced back in 2020.

But when the countdown hit zero, fans got to see the final trailer for the show's upcoming season.

If this latest trailer is anything to go by, the new season is going to be more dramatic, more explosive and a lot darker than anything we've seen from Hawkins before.

The three-minute clip opens with Max at the grave of her older brother, Billy, who lost his life during the battle at the mall at the end of the previous season. We're then teased with various glimpses of the Creel House clock, which appears to be popping up all over Hawkins, and presumably across time.

We learnt in a previous trailer that Eleven has been relocated to California, far enough away from Hawkins to keep her safe, but in this latest teaser we see that Hawkins National Laboratory researcher, Dr. Sam Owens, has paid Eleven a visit. He tells her, "a war is coming, I'm afraid your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of the storm." He then tells Eleven, "without you, we can't win this war."

The clock that featured in the trailer countdown suggests that time is going to be an important part of the show's next season. A previous teaser clip showed a family arriving at Creel House in the 1950s where the creepy-looking grandfather clock is situated. And if the name Creel sounds familiar, that's because we already know that Robert Englund will be playing Victor Creel in the new season.

Since we know that Victor is a disturbed killer, can we deduce that he was locked up in the psychiatric hospital for killing his family as hinted at in the teaser? What could have caused him to snap? The Creel family have two children, are they like Eleven? Did Victor murder his children because of their weird powers?

The live stream simply showed the clock on a street with some actors dressed as lab assistants while the clock counted down. Occasionally the clock let out a puff of smoke, familiar sounds from the series and screams. Each hour a mysterious piece of footage was shown.

It was announced in February that season four of 'Stranger Things' will be split into two volumes with the first landing on May 27 on Netflix. Fans won't have to wait long for the second half of the fourth season, which will premiere on July 1.

It was July 4, 2019 when we were last enthralled with new episodes of the hit supernatural series. The third season came to an end with Hopper and Joyce bravely fighting their way into the Russians' secret bunker under Starcourt Mall an an attempt to put an end to the Russians' attempt to re-open the gate to the deadly realm that is the Upside Down.

Other than what appeared to be the demise of Hopper, the story was wrapped up nicely at the end of the third season. Although we saw the gang go their own separate ways, it was inevitable that something would bring them back together for at least one more adventure.

The action will pick up six months after the epic Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, the gang of friends consisting of Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Eleven, are separated for the first time.

The kids find themselves navigating the complexities of high school, something which will be especially tough for Eleven, who is now living like a normal kid in California with Will and his older brother, Jonathan. Presumably their mother Joyce adopted Eleven in Hopper's absence.

In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
