'The Haunting Of Bly Manor' Named Best Paranormal Entertainment Series Of 2020
This article is more than three years old.
Netlix's supernatural series, 'The Haunting Of Bly Manor' has been voted the Best Paranormal Entertainment Show of 2020 in our annual paranormal awards.
The category, which was new to the 2020 Paranormal Entertainment Awards, was the most voted in proving how much television audiences love supernatural programming.
The follow up to 'The Haunting Of Hill House' dropped on Netflix this year. Although the new season, entitled 'The Haunting of Bly Manor', shares a production team with the first, the second season focused on a completely different story based upon Henry James' 1898 psychological horror 'The Turn Of The Screw'.
The strange and sinister story unfolded from the perspective of Dani, a young American tourist who is hired to take care of two orphan children living in an old English country mansion.
The show's win was announced during this year's Paranormal Entertainment Awards, which were dished out during an online virtual event that was watched by thousands of fans of supernatural entertainment and ghost hunting. 'Bly Manor' was just one of a whole list of shows, paranormal teams and individuals who were honoured in the third annual event. You can see the full list of winners here.
The winners were selected by the public who voted more than 75,000 times on a shortlist made up of paranormal entertainment that was nominated by the public earlier in the year.
Silver: 'The Osbournes Want To Believe'
Narrowly losing out to 'Bly Manor', was 'The Osbournes Want To Believe' which picked up the silver award in the category.
Jack Osbourne, who's a familiar face on ghost hunting shows, took it upon himself to try to convert his legendary parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne into full-fledged paranormal believers.
In the eight-part series Jack is reunited on-screen with Ozzy and Sharon to share the craziest, most jaw-dropping videos of supernatural activity ever caught on camera.
The "caught on camera" show followed hot on the heels of 'Watching With The Osbournes' which was shot during the coronavirus lockdown and saw Jack getting his parents to watch an episode of his ghost hunting show, 'Portals To Hell'.
"My parents have always lived on the edge, even when it comes to believing in the supernatural," said Jack. "I'm convinced they just haven’t seen enough evidence, so I'm making them watch the most undeniable footage caught on camera, including a few from my own personal experiences. My biggest challenge may be keeping their comments family friendly. It will be a classic Osbourne gathering."
