James Fox, renowned for his contributions to the world of UFO documentaries, is set to release his latest film, 'The Program', later this year. Fox has made a name for himself in the UFO community with documentaries like 'The Phenomenon', and his newest project promises to dive deep into the current efforts by the US Congress to uncover what the government and intelligence agencies know about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs), previously referred to as UFOs.
'The Program' is already generating buzz, with Screen Rant describing the film as "The X-Files Meets Real Life." The trailer, which they had the exclusive rights to premiere, teases the documentary with nothing more than the same old news clips we've seen before. While it hints at the broader political and public discussions surrounding UFOs, it doesn’t seem to show anything particularly new or groundbreaking. Instead, it mostly offers a recap of the events and news stories that have surfaced in recent years.
The trailer teases what viewers can expect when the documentary is released: commentary from high-level officials and those involved in UFO research, as well as insights into the government's handling of UAP reports. While it may leave some curious for more concrete revelations, it builds anticipation for what could be a pivotal look into the intersection of politics, national security, and extraterrestrial speculation.
You can watch the trailer below to get a first taste of Fox's latest exploration into this intriguing and controversial subject.
Narrated by actor Peter Coyote, 'The Program' promises to deliver a wide range of perspectives from insiders, politicians, and experts within the field. The documentary features interviews with notable figures such as Christopher Mellon, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Dr. Gary Nolan of Stanford University, and Jason Sands, a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. It also includes contributions from Craig Lindsay, formerly of Scotland's Royal Air Force Office, and what UFO documentary would be complete without Nick Pope? Pope worked for the UK's Ministry of Defence and has since become one of the most recognisable voices in UFO research.
Whitley Strieber, the American author best known for his horror writing and personal accounts of alien abduction, was full of praise for the documentary, calling it "riveting, immensely important, and brilliantly crafted." He added that 'The Program' is a "tremendous contribution to the effort to get the truth out into the public space, where it has always belonged." However, despite Strieber's glowing endorsement, some viewers may find the trailer lacking in terms of new revelations. Instead, it mostly recaps the growing attention UFOs, or UAPs, have received in mainstream media over the last few years.
The subject of UFOs and UAPs has long been surrounded by intrigue, speculation, and conspiracy theories. Over the past few years, however, the conversation has become much more public and mainstream, culminating in congressional hearings and official government investigations. Today, UAPs are being discussed at the highest levels of government, partly due to recent testimonies from former military and intelligence officials, such as David Grusch and Commander David Fravor, who have raised concerns about the handling of information related to UFO encounters.
These hearings have highlighted two diverging schools of thought: some believe the government has been hiding evidence of extraterrestrial life, while others think the phenomena could be related to more terrestrial explanations, such as advanced foreign technology. The recent testimonies, especially claims about "intact alien vehicles" and "non-human" biologics, have added more fuel to the fire of speculation.
'The Program' aims to explore the bipartisan congressional effort to force intelligence agencies to be more transparent about what they know, amid growing public interest in the topic. Whether you're a believer or a sceptic, this documentary is sure to spark discussion when it releases later this year.
