Neil Packer, founder of the Haunted Antiques Paranormal Research Centre (HAPRC) and the Ghost Planet Network (GPN), has announced an expansion of his successful ParaMeet event series for 2024. During his closing speech at this year’s ParaMeet, Neil unveiled plans for not just one, but three separate events across various locations in the UK.
ParaMeet is an annual paranormal networking event organised by HAPRC, a Hinckley, Leicestershire-based paranormal attraction. The 2023 event, which marked the second year, was held over two days at the Brownsover Hall Hotel in Warwickshire. It featured 16 speakers in the paranormal field, along with vendors offering a wide range of products such as tarot card readings and ghost hunting equipment. The event also included a mass séance on Saturday evening.
As the 2023 event came to an end, Neil announced three different versions of ParaMeet for the coming year: ParaMeet Midlands, ParaMeet North, and ParaMeet South. While the Midlands event will follow the same pattern as previous ones, the North and South events will take place elsewhere in the country.
"Next year we are doing it again; however, we're not just doing one," said Neil. "We are doing ParaMeet Midlands, and we will also be planning ParaMeet North and ParaMeetSouth." Although venues and dates have yet to be determined, Neil is actively seeking locations and is open to suggestions.
One of the key features of the 2024 events will be the introduction of the 'GPN ParaMeet Awards'. These awards aim to celebrate teams creating content for the Ghost Planet Network, a free-to-stream online channel that provides comprehensive coverage of the paranormal world. The award ceremony will take place at the Midlands event, which is scheduled for June to coincide with the first anniversary of GPN.
Next year’s ParaMeet events will have a renewed focus on accessibility. Neil revealed a partnership with Jayne Mortimer from the Cornwall-based initiative Wheely Haunted. Jayne's project aims to promote awareness for disability, accessibility, and diversity within the paranormal community. "We will be working closely with Jayne on ParaMeet South to find a location that's properly disabled-friendly," Neil said.

The 2024 events will give fans of the paranormal three chances to spend a weekend with friends and listen to some fascinating talks. Speakers at this year's ParaMeet included a range of experts from various paranormal disciplines. Notable names such as Kate Cherrell, who co-starred in the Discovery+ series 'Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming,' and Eamonn Vann-Harris, a former investigator from the series 'Most Haunted' and an expert in electronic voice phenomenon (EVP).
This exciting news means that HAPRC's ParaMeet events are broadening their scope and scale, promising a more inclusive and comprehensive offering for the paranormal community in 2024. Keep an eye on HAPRC on Facebook and the official website for news and updates on upcoming events.
