Joined by some common household substances, a deadly natural toxin tops the list of the world’s most expensive liquids per gallon.

Nail varnish can be cheap, but the average price for that little bottle puts it at No. 10 in the list of the world’s most expensive liquids. Either clear or coloured, most nail polishes are made of nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent, although more frequently water-based alternatives are hitting stores.

LSD, or Lysergic acid diethylamide, fuelled the psychedelic-sixties. You wouldn’t normally buy it by the gallon, unless you wanted to give a small country hallucinations for a month, in fact a gallon of LSD would be enough to send about 55,000 people on the trip of their lifetime.
