Podcast host Danny Robins has confirmed that the 'Uncanny' TV spin-off will premiere on Friday, October 13 at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer. Revealed via a post on X, Danny told follower "it is happening... #Uncanny is coming to TV. Get it in your diaries and prepare to be very afraid..."
The announcement comes in the same week that the hit paranormal podcast returned for its third season, with the first episode titled 'The Blue Man' dropping on September 27. As if that weren't enough, Danny recently released his book based on the series, 'Into The Uncanny'. So there's certainly no shortage of spectral happenings to keep the #UncannyCommunity engaged this Halloween season.
Danny Robins had previously hinted that his popular paranormal podcast 'Uncanny' was set to leap from audio to visual format, and now it's less than two weeks away. BBC Two and iPlayer are set to air three one-hour-long television specials, all designed to chill your bones and provoke discussion about the paranormal world.
Since its launch, 'Uncanny' has garnered almost five million plays on BBC Sounds and another three million downloads globally. Its blend of firsthand accounts of paranormal events and expert commentary has made it a hit among both skeptics and believers.
Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning at Specialist Factual, stated, "'Uncanny' is a sensational podcast that has proved to be a huge hit on BBC Sounds, and it’s going to be every bit as spine-chilling when it makes the transition to BBC Two and iPlayer later this year."
Danny said, "I've been blown away by the response to Uncanny. We’ve built an incredible community around the show, many of whom never realised how interested in the paranormal they were! I'm incredibly excited to get the chance to both continue the podcast and adapt it for TV, as we explore that biggest of all questions - 'do ghosts exist'? I promise it will be scary and fascinating in equal measure - so, do you dare watch?"
For fans who can't get enough, Danny's other works like 'The Battersea Poltergeist' and 'The Witch Farm' remain available for a spooky listen on BBC Sounds.
Produced by the acclaimed BBC Studios Documentary Unit, the same team behind hits like 'Fight The Power with Chuck D' and 'Lucy Worsley Investigates', 'Uncanny' promises to be an unmissable addition to the Danny's ever-growing spooky portfolio. So, mark your calendars and brace yourself for a bewitching Halloween season courtesy of 'Uncanny'.
