Does This Video Show Real Poltergeist Activity In An Empty House?

A creepy video has been uploaded to YouTube that appears to show some very unexpected poltergeist activity in a family home and it has viewers wondering if they've watching real proof of the paranormal.

The video, entitled 'Real Ghost/Poltergeist Caught On Camera' shows a few seconds of footage captured by the uploader's 15-year-old daughter. Joanne Brown a well-respected medium and member of the paranormal group GGUK2004, describes her daughter, Jolea, as a paranormal investigator in training. The young ghost hunter got more than she bargained for after she saw a dark shadowy figure in the upstairs of her home.

Captions written by Joanna at the start of the video state that Jolea was on her own upstairs in the house. After seeing a black shadow she grabbed her phone and started filming and captured one of the doors on the landing close seemingly by itself. According to the introductory text there were no draughts in the house, no windows were open and no one else present.

In the second part of the video Jolea builds up the courage to call out to whatever is haunting her house. She says, "if there are any spirits, please show a sign that you are here" and what happened next is hard to explain or debunk.

Speaking about the evidence her daughter seems to have captured, Joanna said, "most paranormal activity is natural causes or over active imagination, but I just cant explain this." And neither can we.

The video, which was uploaded on January 5th, is already causing a great deal of debate online with many stunned by the activity captured, while some skeptics are questioning the evidence presented.

Like a lot of videos that allege to show paranormal activity, it's hard to know exactly what's going on in retrospect having not been there to witness it yourself, but this video is certainly proving to be a tricky one to debunk.
