GhostCast: Photography In Paranormal Investigations - Are You Haunted? [Episode 5]

In the fifth episode of the 'Are You Haunted...?' GhostCast, it's up to birthday boy Dale Dickinson to contribute the topics they'll be discussing.

As always Dale is joined via webcam by the rest of his ghost-hunting team, including the show's creators, Phil and Sara Whyman, Jane Carrigan, Wayne Dean, and Ben Woodward.

First Dale picks an investigation from their back-to-basics web series that he wants to discuss with the team. Dale picks a location from the first series, the Haunted Antiques Paranormal Research Centre in Hinckley. The Leicestershire location is home to a large collection of supposedly haunted antiques, including possessed dolls, wheelchairs with a life of their own and creepy clown toys. The building is said to be plagued by paranormal activity that includes strange sounds, items in the collection moving on their own and figures being seen moving throughout the building.

Dale then brings the team their weekly news story, which dates back to a famous paranormal case from the early-90s, which is once again getting attention after it featured in the Netflix series, 'Surviving Death'. This is the story of John Huckert who over several years caught numerous ghostly images on a Polaroid camera and even ghostly writing in the form of words and whole sentences.

Sara said she wasn't convinced by Huckert's photographs, which she describes as "just too good to be true." However Phil well and truly ended the debate by explaining "there are actually artists who have created pieces of artwork by manipulating Polaroid camera film as it comes out."

Finally, the team come to the topic of the day, which this week is still on the theme of photography. Dale asks, "is photography a worth while medium in paranormal investigations?"
