We love Haunted Scottish Castles, and we certainly love ones than are an inspiration to writers such as Bram Stoker, of Dracula fame. Add in the history, the mystery and many tales of activity and you have a hotbed for a fantastic night-time wander.
BBC Scotland confirms what many researchers know...
"The Aberdeenshire castle thought to have inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula has been awarded listed status by Historic Environment Scotland (HES).
The Irish author is widely believed to have been influenced by 16th Century Slains Castle, near Cruden Bay."
Some Haunted Scotland followers have also confirmed relatives retell the same inspiring stories. But what would happen when we explore the ruins?
We may not meet the fictional blood-sucker, but what else lurks in the warren of corridors and rooms?
